Now in it's seventh year the Northern Dinner is returning to the Manchester Deansgate Hilton which hosted their 2007 Northern Dinner. Guests will arrive to a red carpet welcome leading them up to the drinks reception before being seated for a 3-course dinner. Entertainment will be provided by guest speaker Paul Morrell, former Senior Partner of Davis Langdon, and founder member and past President of the BCO. Post-award drinks can then be enjoyed in the stylish Cloud 23 bar with breathtaking views over the city.

Government Chief Construction Adviser

Paul is the Chief Construction Adviser to the Government, a post he took up at the end of last year after 38 years with Davis Langdon, where he was a Senior Partner. He was a founder member of the BCO, and served as President in 2004/5. He is a fellow of the RICS, an Honorary Fellow of the RIBA, and served as a Commissioner on CABE from 2000 to 2008, finishing as Deputy Chairman.

He received the Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Construction Industry at the 2007 Building Awards; the BCO President's Award in the same year; and an OBE for services to architecture and the built environment in the 2008 New Year Honours list. Away from the office, enthusiasms include sailing, theatre, opera and contemporary dance; and he is on the Board of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and chairs the Siobhan Davies Dance Company.
